Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Kittens!
Looking for a furry friend? How about a kitten!
“We’re definitely getting just overrun with cats,” Sean Casey of Sean Casey Animal Rescue, told The Brooklyn Paper. It’s “kitten season” — also known as spring and summer — when large volumes of newborn kittens flood the city streets.
He says the shelter just doesn’t have the space and resources to care for so many mousers at once. Casey says he often has to turn away kittens at the door.
Animal lovers who don’t have the time or space to look after a cat can also help by paying off some of the cats’ medical expenses. Casey said many of the kittens come in with ringworm or respiratory infections.
If you’d like to adopt or foster a kitten or two, you can find them at Sean Casey Animal Rescue in Windsor Terrace, located at 153 E 3rd Street, between Fort Hamilton Parkway and Caton Avenue — a quick trip on the F/G to Fort Hamilton Parkway — open daily from 11am to 7pm.
