Adopt It’s a Dog’s World’s Cats!

In addition to leaving us without a good pet store in the neighborhood, the March closing of It’s a Dog’s World will leave its two store cats without a home. The 7-year-old litter-mates Lerner and Loewe (named after the Broadway composer and lyricist who did My Fair Lady, among others) need a new place to live, and owner Marion Weiner is hoping to find someone soon.

Unfortunately, Marion’s husband is very allergic, so she can’t bring the friendly felines home. She says the cats, who are both neutered and will be brought up to date with a vet visit before the adoption, are very social and affectionate, and are amazing with dogs and people. And look how cute they are!

As one neighbor noted, voicing the feelings of many, we’re sure: “I’ll miss those big boys that live at the store. (The feline ones.)”

At least one lucky person or family will be able to see them a lot more often, which will help put Marion’s mind at ease as she moves into retirement.

“I am worried about them,” Marion tells us. “I can provide A LOT of food and supplies, if that helps.”
