Adopt A Dog, Take A Walk

“You’re a star!” exclaimed Borough President Adams to the demur pup.

Fort Greene’s Brooklyn Bark is offering a free walk to anyone who picks up a pup for National Adopt A Shelter Dog Day.

Borough President Eric Adams held an event today to promote awareness of the adoption soireee scheduled for 10am to 3pm on Saturday April 30th at the Marine Park Avenue U Parking Lot (across from the  Salt Marsh Nature Center) and representatives from several local shelters will be there.

“He’s the leader of the pack! helping these terrific pups and kitties find their “fur-ever” homes. The love people have welling up in them for these terrific companions is palpable,” said Brooklyn Bark’s chief marketing officer Helen Bowers of Adams’ outreach efforts.

Brooklyn Bark’s coverage area includes Fort Greene and Clinton Hill and their representatives will be at the event on Saturday. They are also trying to raise awareness for the Sean Casey Animal Rescue, which is conducting a drive to collect blankets

“Adoption does not only mean humans. It means embracing anyone who doesn’t have a family. So, we consider ourselves a dating service. People are going to meet a great partner when they get to Marine Park,” said Borough President Adams.
