Abandoned South Slope Dog Finds Her Forever Home
We have some fantastic news that is sure to start your Monday off with a smile.
Dottie, an abused and abandoned pup that was rescued from the streets in February by neighbors Brett and Ashley Affrunti, has been adopted.
The couple posted the following message to Facebook on Monday morning:
We have some VERY exciting news! Dottie has found her forever home!!!!! She spent this past weekend with this wonderful family to see if it would be a good match and it didn’t take long for them to realize this is where she belonged! When we picked Dottie up last night, she was snuggled in the arms of her new owner and it took her a couple of minutes to even realize we were there!! We thought that was a great sign! We have taken Dottie back with us for the next couple of nights, but she will be reuniting with her new family later this week!
As a thank you to everyone that donated to Dottie’s Go Fund Me page, or offered their support in other ways, Brett and Ashley are planning a farewell party in Prospect Park, set to take place sometime in the next couple of weeks. We’ll be sure to update the site when details are released.
In the meantime, congratulations to Dottie and her new family, and thank you to Brett and Ashley. What you two did for did for Dottie is truly inspiring, and an excellent testament to the community spirit that makes our neighborhood such a wonderful place to be.
