A Happy Ending For Captain Jack

Remember Captain Jack, the cat who was brought to Sean Casey Animal Rescue by the local mailman after his owner passed away, and who needed surgery on his eye? Well we’re happy to report that the tail tale has a happy ending!

After neighbors donated funds for his care through a fundraiser by Alison Animal Hospital (224 Prospect Park West), he not just received the necessary surgery but complete dental work as well. Not only that, but he’s been adopted by a local family.

Alison Animal Hospital says a student at St. Joseph the Worker Academy, located just about across the street from the vet, helped organize a fundraiser at the school for Captain Jack, and went with her family to visit him during his recovery — and it turned out they were the perfect folks to give him a forever home.

“How fitting that she would now be able to call Captain Jack her own!” writes Alison Animal Hospital.

“Thank you to all who contributed and helped spread awareness for him,” they continue. “This is one of the many reasons why we do what we do everyday.”

Congrats, Captain Jack!
