88th Precinct Crime Statistics: Increases In Most Major Categories
The last week of April/first days of May primarily saw an uptick in reported crimes across most major categories, although some rates stayed the same or dropped marginally compared to last week.
First the good news: auto thefts dropped from 2 to 1, misdemeanor assaults from 4 to 3, and shootings from 1 to 0. Meanwhile, reported rapes stayed at one case, and petit larceny reports remained at 11 incidents.
The crime increases were as follows: robberies rose from 1 to 4, felony assaults from 4 to 6, burglaries from 3 to 4, and grand larcenies from 8 to 18.
Housing crimes also rose from 2 to 4 and sex crimes went from 0 to 1 since the previous week.
The next 88th Precinct Community Council meeting is Tuesday, May 19 at 7pm at the French Speaking Baptist Church, entrance at Vanderbilt and Willoughby Avenues.
