88th Precinct Crime Statistics: Grand And Petit Larcenies Drop, But Felony Assaults Rise As June Ends

The June 15-21 crime report saw more crime in most categories than this week’s (June 22 to 29). Seeing decreases were:

  • robberies (down from 2 to 1)
  • grand larcenies (down from 6 to 4)
  • auto thefts (down from 6 to 1)
  • transit (down from 1 to 0)
  • petit larceny (down from 15 to 5)
  • misdemeanor assault (down from 4 to 3)
  • misdemeanor sex crimes (down from 1 to 0)

However, a few areas saw increases:

  • felony assaults went from 2 to 7 reports this week
  • shooting incidents and victims (up from 0 to 1)

Staying the same were:

  • burglaries (one incident)
  • housing (three incidents)

The NYPD’s National Night Out festival will be held on Tuesday, August 4 at Fort Greene Park (DeKalb Avenue and Washington Park) from 11am-7pm AND at the Walt Whitman Houses at 117 North Oxford Walk from 5-8:30pm.

The next 88th Precinct Community Council meeting will be in SEPTEMBER.
