70th Precinct Honors The Victims Of September 11 On 14th Anniversary
The police officers at the 70th Precinct honored the victims of the World Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001 Friday morning with a moment of silence and a short prayer.
The service started at 8:46am, the exact time that Flight 11 crashed into the World Trade Center. Deputy Inspector Richard DiBlasio read the names of officers from the 70th who were killed in the attack then asked for a moment of silence to remember all of the victims.
A prayer was then read:
We ask you in your goodness to give eternal light and peace to all who died there — the heroic first-responders: our fire fighters, police officers, emergency service workers, and Port Authority personnel, along with all the innocent men and women who were victims of that tragedy simply because their work or service brought them there on September 11, 2001.
Deputy Inspector DiBlasio thanked the community for their support and coffee and bagels were available for everyone who attended.
