7 Top Sheepshead Restaurants AM NY Forgot
This week, AM New York stepped up with their Sheepshead Bay dining guide, aimed at Brooklyn and out-of-town tourists looking to understand food culture in this culturally diverse and historic neighborhood.
While we thought the places on this list were great, the list itself was woefully underdone.
There are, of course, an endless number of restaurants and cafes in Sheepshead Bay and it would be impossible to list them all. But we just couldn’t help diving in and adding our two cents.
Here are some notables that were left out, from what we’ve tasted over the years:
- Rocca Café-Lounge serving delectable Turkish kebabs and desserts
- Masal Cafe, with famous Kumpir and a new indoor children’s playground
- Jimmy’s Heros, with its classic sandwiches and charm
- Dushanbe, the elegant Tajik spot for meat skewers and more
- Tone Cafe, Georgian food at its best in Brighton Beach
- Il Fornetto, upscale Italian fish and pasta by the waterfront
- Brennan and Carr’s, while the list made casual mention of the Roll-n-Roasters competitor, we thought the rivalry deserved a bit more space and consideration. (Especially since Brennan and Carr’s won our Roast Beef Showdown poll by a landslide)
What are some of your favorite places that we missed? What new neighborhood additions should we try next?
