66th Precinct Community Council Meets Thursday, January 16

This Thursday, January 16 at 7:30pm, the NYPD’s 66th Precinct holds its regular monthly Community Council meeting at Community Board 12’s offices, 5910 13th Avenue, in Borough Park.

Following a busy beginning to 2014, the precinct’s commander, Deputy Inspector Michael Deddo, should have lots to say. Only last Friday Kensington witnessed a first: the McDonald Avenue vigil of over 1,500 people for murdered landlord Mahiuddin Mahmud, which brought to a close a sad and difficult week for residents and officers of the 66th.

On a positive note, this meeting will be D.I. Deddo’s first chance to crow publicly about the precinct’s 5.24% drop in crime in 2013 compared to 2012.

The commander takes the floor with back-up from his team: the three Community Affairs officers, the new traffic duo, his lieutenant, and the Community Council officers. Often he presents plaques to the precinct’s “Cops of the M0nth,” for getting the job done well.

Hear Commander Deddo give you the straight scoop. In turn, you can give him yours. Your problems, complaints, and even compliments, are more than welcome. That’s the precinct’s bread and butter.

The B16 from Kensington will deposit you on 13th Ave at 56 Street, a few short blocks away.
