5th Avenue’s Dollar Plus Closing Its Doors

Another 5th Avenue discount store bites the dust.

Dollar Plus, which took over the space at 458 5th Avenue from Amazing Deals (and Bargain Stop II before that…and Warehouse Outlet before that) is closing its doors. The inside is pretty much cleared out (with the exception of several cans of mackerel), and employees tell us that their last day will probably be this weekend.

This location has been a magnet for discount stores, all of which have gone under. Perhaps it’s time for a change? We’ve asked this before, but let’s toss it back out to the masses: what type of business do you think would succeed in this space?
