5th Avenue Bageltique Closed, To Reopen In New Year Under New Management

More sad news from 5th Avenue, as one of our local bagel stores has closed down, to reopen under new management in the new year.

5th Avenue Bageltique Cafe, located at 242 5th Avenue, between Carroll and Garfield, closed at the end of last week, and according to signs in the windows, the space will reopen after the holidays with new management.

It might not have been the swankiest place to grab a bagel in the area, but Bageltique — which we believe has been around since about 1998, but would love if anyone could remember better than us and share in the comments — always had a friendly and welcoming staff, and was actually a pretty good spot to sit and do a little work, with pretty reliable wifi.

A farewell sign from the owners reads:

5th Avenue Bageltique will close on Friday. We would like to thank you for all the support and friendship you have given us over the years, and we sincerely wish you the best in all your future endeavors.

Right back at ya, guys. Best of luck to everyone there, and we look forward to seeing what the space brings us next.
