How are glasses made? Let your young camper discover how this summer at Urban Glass. We have a list of other fine arts camps as well that run the spectrum from using found art to training with professional artists.

Only three weeks of camp are offered at Urban Glass. Campers will learn how to create mosaics with flat glass and also the art of glass blowing and glass sculpture.

Brooklyn Art Hive, in Crown Heights offers studio art camps, private group workshops and classes for toddlers over the summer.

Alamander

Campers enjoy learning fine arts while they explore gems of New York City–cultural and art related. They’ll rub shoulders with South of the Navy Yard Artists and volunteer to walk dogs with Sean Casey.

Barking Cat Studio

Ages 5 to 10
This is a traditional arts and crafts camp using art store supplies and found objects. Karen takes young campers to cultural institutions throughout the city for inspiration. Each week artists explore a different theme including color and multi media. Karen also teaches weekly art classes which are still available.

Brooklyn Design Lab

For children entering grades K-6
These studios run morning and afternoon sessions and are ideal for focusing on a specific fine arts talent. Artist work with professional grade material to create masterpieces out of clay or wood. They learn the art of bookmaking and printmaking.

Become a Master Fine Artist! Created By Kids leads young artists through world topics–the Far East or Space Odyssey–so they can find inspiration from a variety of sources. Each week young artists also explore a new medium. Created by Kids also hosts birthday parties and after school workshops.

Summer Arts Program at Brooklyn Friends School

For children in grades 3-9
Young artists take weekly trips to real, working, producing studios including Little Airplane Productions and the Starn Studio. This is an opportunity for kids to connect summer camp hobbies with actual professions.

Textile Arts Center

For children between the ages of 5-11
The light infused Textile Arts Center, just steps from the Gowanus Canal, is the perfect spot for young artists to learn their craft. These age appropriate classes include printing, felting and weaving.
