Seen from the Stoop: Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, Soda Control, and One Angry Patrick Stewart

The NYO reports that new neighbor Patrick Stewart is as annoyed with Time Warner as everyone else (Time Warner Cable: an equal opportunity frustration). On the bright side, that should give him something to talk about with fellow Sloper and Brooklyn comedy king Eugene Mirman, who’s had his own publicly documented battle with the good folks at TWC. Maybe they can commiserate at this weekend’s Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival? Most of the big name stuff is sold out, but Brokelyn says that some shows still have a few tickets left.

And speaking of tickets, Barclays-going soda-lovers are soon to be disappointed. According to Patch, the new arena won’t be selling sugary drinks larger than 16 oz. Which isn’t to say there’s no opportunity for excessive consumption in this town — DNAinfo just got word that the Grand Army Plaza food truck rally is on every Saturday till November 24. You can take our soda, Bloomberg, but you cannot take our bacon fat and truffle-oil-infused grilled cheese.
