Video: Brooklyn Handicap At Gravesend Race Track, 1904

We just stumbled across the above video, showing several horses racing in the Brooklyn Handicap at the local Gravesend Race Track 108 years ago in 1904. Sure, the race track wasn’t as famous as the world-renown Sheepshead Bay Race Track, but an old video is an old video, and cool with us all the same.

The race above was won by 4-year-old horse The Picket. It was trained by Carroll B. Reid and owned by Waldeck Stable. The winner was clocked at completing the race roughly at two minutes and six seconds.

So sit back and enjoy the race!
