1602 Avenue H Gets A New Price Tag & A New Commercial Tenant

When a property is on the market for nearly half a year and nobody bites, the logical thing to do is raise the price by $100,000–or at least, that seems to be the idea at 1602 Avenue H (on the corner of E 16th Street). Eagle-eyed reader Josh spotted the jump in the building’s price last week, and mentioned there was some work being done in the former P & L Laundry space as well.

Nobody seemed to be inside the store when we stopped by this afternoon, but a peep through the glass door showed a lot of electrical bits and bobs hanging on one of the walls. However, the fridges along the back wall don’t necessarily indicate hardware store–so 99 cent store, perhaps? Or maybe just a hardware store for people who work up a sweat fixing stuff and like to keep hydrated. Either way, there are no current work permits for the building indicating any major upgrades, so this new tenant must seem like $100k worth of curb appeal.

So sorry, everyone who commented, but it’s not looking like a cafe, bookstore, or record shop–but shell out a cool $1,088,000, and you could still make it so!
