Cops are searching for a man who allegedly grabbed a 14-year-old girl Tuesday and tried to lead her away while she walked home from school.

Authorities say the man walked up and slung his arm around the teen just before 5pm while she walked down East 7th Street, near the intersection with Kings Highway. He tried to lure her away and held onto her arm when she tried to run away, according to police. The teenager was able to wrestle out of the stranger’s grasp and cops say the man fled down the street after his prey freed herself.

Police describe the suspect as a white man, about 20 years old, five feet, eight inches tall, 150 pounds, with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a white collared shirt, a black jacket, black pants and black shoes.

Police provided surveillance photos of the suspect.
