11th Street Already Seeing An Increase In Police Presence
Earlier this week, we asked for your thoughts on whether neighbor Bill de Blasio should stay in South Slope, or move on up to Gracie Mansion after Tuesday’s mayoral election. While it would definitely be cool to share your coffee shop with the mayor, several readers on our sister site, Park Slope Stoop, expressed some concern about the “constant security presence” that would be unavoidable if the de Blasio family remained on 11th Street.
Sure enough, even with the mayor-elect in Puerto Rico the past couple of days, there have been a number of police cars parked outside of his home. We can only imagine that it’s going to be worse when he’s actually in town.
An increased police presence isn’t necessarily a bad thing, given some of the recent crime in the area, but parking is definitely an issue. Would you sacrifice your spot to have the mayor on your block?
