Would You Rent Mayor De Blasio’s Local House?

As Mayor Bill de Blasio moves his family to Gracie Mansion, leaving bookshelves and Christmas tree stands behind at the curb, there’s one big thing to consider: What will they do with their 11th Street home while they spend their days in the official mayoral abode?

That’s what the Post is speculating about today, saying they’ve heard from sources that the Mayor hopes to rent out the three-bedroom, one-bathroom South Slope home (thought a spokesperson says they’re still weighing the decision).

A realtor they talked to says she estimates that it would normally rent for $5,000, but because it’s the mayor’s, it could fetch $6,500 just for the cachet alone. We’re guessing that doesn’t come with police presence, though, which the tenant may appreciate — for the extra parking space, anyway.

So, would you live in the Mayor’s pad, just to say you did?
