Williamsburg Thieves Stole $25,000 From Unlocked Car

WILLIAMSBURG – Police are on the lookout for two men who stole a purse containing $25,000 from a parked car in Williamsburg earlier this month.

On Friday, October 13, the victim parked her car in front of 28 Debevoise Street in Williamsburg, near the Flushing Ave JMZ station, around 8:50 am.

According to police, the suspects observed the victim leaving her car unlocked and were able to steal the purse—and the $25,000—even though the 47-year old wasn’t very far away.

The two suspects were caught on a security camera as they carried the purse away from the vehicle.

Police described the suspect as two black men: the first wearing a black ballcap, black sweatshirt and jeans, while carrying the victim’s beige purse, and the second wearing a mustard colored hoodie and blue jeans.
