What’s Coming to the Old Solo Space?
It’s more activity than this space has seen since kittens were found inside a few months ago. For the past two weeks, we’ve heard from neighbors just about daily that there’s some kind of work going on at the old Solo space on the corner of Cortelyou and Marlborough Roads. You’ve spotted the doors open, building permits on display, the drum kit finally being removed. Yet somehow, though we’ve basically been stalking the place since we first learned of it, we still haven’t seen anyone in there to ask what’s going on.
They do indeed have permits, which have been issued in the past month, and which basically let construction that was done under permits (or done without permits) in the past continue. Because the past work was intended to turn the space, legally, into a restaurant, we’re guessing that means this space will soon be serving food (maybe Mexican?).
Unfortunately at the moment that’s just a guess, because we haven’t run into anyone working on the space, and we’ve been unable to reach anyone on the permits. If we hear anything, we’ll let you know, but until then — anyone out there know what’s coming to the old Solo space?
