Park Slope Library Used Book Collection
When: Saturday, April 12, 10am to 4pm
Where: 431 6th Avenue at 9th Street
What: Clean out those bookshelves and donate your old books to the Park Slope Library used book sale. The actual sale is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, from 10am-5pm, and all proceeds will benefit the branch.

PS 124 Rummage Sale
When: Saturday, April 12, 11am to 4pm
Where: 4th Avenue, between 13th and 14th Streets
What: For the past month, the PS 124 PTA has been collecting clothing, household items, toys, electronics, and more for their fundraising rummage sale, and the big day has finally arrived. Come out to the school on Saturday to shop till you drop! As an added bonus, PS 124 has also joined forces with Wearable Collections and Lower East Side Ecology Center, who will accept both electronic and textile recyclables at the event.

Songwriter Deathmatch 2 Year Anniversary Party
When: Saturday, April 12, 7pm
Where: Freddy’s, 627 5th Avenue, between 17th and 18th Street
What: It’s an anniversary party at Freddy’s Saturday as neighbor Dave Keener‘s Songwriter Deathmatch, “an intimate, non-violent evening of song with four singer-songwriters in short sets” celebrates two years of performances. The show will feature returning songwriters Rob Paravonian, Robin Aigner, Ray Brown, Dave Foster, Karen Dahlstrom, Mark Humble, and host Dave Keener.

Isle Of Rhodes
When: Saturday, April 12, 8pm
Where: The Rock Shop, 249 4th Avenue
What: The band, made up of South Slope musicians Rob Farren and Colin Behram, brings its “fairly large sound for a two-piece band” to the North Slope.
How much: $8, tickets available in advance

History In Your Hands: Spring Sprouts
When: Saturday and Sundays, April 12-26, 2pm to 4pm
Where: Prospect Park Lefferts Historic House
What: Bring the kids out to Lefferts Historic House on weekends in April to help prepare their potato plot for planting. Participants will also have an opportunity to bring their own planted seedling home.
How much: $3 suggested donation

Mad Men Watching Party
When: Every Sunday, 10pm
Where: The Monro Pub, 481 5th Avenue, between 11th and 12th Streets
What: Mad Men returns for its 7th season on Sunday, and The Monro Pub gang is at the ready with their large television, surround sound, and $3 domestic beers.
