Opera On Tap Auditions

Where: Freddy’s, 627 5th Avenue, between 17th and 18th Streets
What: If you’ve ever dreamed of joining the amazingly talented performers of Opera on Tap, the group is holding auditions on Saturday for men and mezzos (no sopranos this season).
How much: Free

Just Salad Anniversary
When: Saturday, March 8, 12-3pm
Where: Just Salad, 252 7th Avenue
What: It’s the one-year anniversary of this chain franchise, and they’re inviting the community to celebrate with a family-friendly party that will include face-painting, stroller cleaning, free Frava drinks, and 50% off smoothies and soups with a purchase of a salad or a wrap. Additionally 15% of all sales will be donated to New York Methodist Hospital’s Spirit of Women program.

Playtime With Victoryrose
When: Saturday, March 8, 9pm to 2am
Where: Black Horse Pub, 568 5th Avenue and 16th Street
What: Ready for an evening of dancing, music and drinks? Join the gang at Black Horse for some Britpop, indie, electro-pop, new wave and post-punk music.

Green-Wood Cemetery: Off The Map Tour
When: Sunday, March 9, 1pm to 3pm
Where: Meet at Sea Witch Tavern, 703 5th Avenue, between 21st and 22nd Streets
What: Explore some of Green-Wood Cemetery’s hidden gems with neighbor and Boroughs of the Dead author Andrea Janes. Afterward, the group will make their way back to Sea Witch for a burger and draft beer, wine or well drink.
How much: $30 (includes ticket and lunch)

Hiking With The Urban Park Rangers
When: Sunday, March 9, 1pm
Where: Prospect Park Audubon Center
What: Bust out those boots and head to Prospect Park for a hiking adventure with the Urban Park Rangers. The park website does note that the program is “vigorous, with long distance, hills and rugged terrain,” so if you’re going to give it a go, prepare for a workout.
