Authorities are seeking neighbors’ assistance in tracking down David Evanson, 25, who is accused of raping a Dyker Heights woman over the weekend.

Cops say Evanson broke into a 21-year-old woman’s apartment through a window at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, choked her as she lay in bed, dragged her into the living room and sexually assaulted her.

He then fled in a sedan.

The woman was treated at a local hospital and released.

The attack happened at the woman’s home near 15th Avenue and Bay Ridge Avenue. The victim knew her attacker, although cops declined to say how.

DNAinfo reports that the woman and her assailant had a previous relationship:

Authorities said the rape was not Evanson’s first attack on the woman, and an order of protection forbid him from seeing her.
He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 6 months in 2012 for assaulting the girlfriend, according to police. A judge ordered him to stay away from her for 2 years after the attack.

Evanson is 6’2″ and weighs 150 lbs, and lives on Long Island.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.
