The Coney Island Wahlburgers — which opened last summer to immediate fanfare – is hosting a rooftop viewing party for the season debut of the reality TV show that put their fast food franchise on the map.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Alma Cares, a charity dedicated to feeding families in need, according to a press release.
Tickets are steep. The cost to attend the event is $100 plus a $6.49 fee that is just a few cents shy of the price of their signature Our Burger ($7.15). Guests can expect a sampling of Wahlburger’s menu items and complimentary beer and wine. There’s also a cash bar for liquor.
Executive Chef Paul Wahlberg is expected to pop in for a brief visit with fans, the Daily News reports.
The A&E reality show Wahlburgers, now in its fifth season, documented Wahlberg clan’s effort to start their own burger chain. The show was a hit and helped put the brother’s fast food franchise on the map.
I’m not sure if free booze and burgers is worth the $100 charge, but hey, if you’re a big fan of the show and you want to contribute to charity, why not?
The party kicks off Wednesday, March 9, and goes from 6pm to 11pm. The burger joint is located at 3015 Stillwell Avenue (near Surf Avenue). Tickets can be purchased here.
