Now’s your chance to show some love for our neighborhood’s Park Slope Library!

Our community’s literary mecca has been named of the 10 finalists for the Bike the Branches book display contest, and if they win the library will get a “special prize” that has yet to be announced. Last year, the Brooklyn Public Library gave the winner a pizza party for the entire staff.

On the Bike the Branches display contest website, Park Slope Library describes their lauded display:

George, our curious papier mache monkey, shown here promoting #BikeTheBranches as he floats in his jungle environment above our main floor, has an illustrious and historic name! From famous writers of all genres, to fascinating Georges in history, to even an artistic Georgia and a Georgia peach, people of all ages can get curious about our collection at Park Slope Library!

Other branches that are in the top 10 include: Bay Ridge, Clarendon, Cortelyou, DeKalb, Kensington, Kings Highway, Ryder, Stone Avenue, and Windsor Terrace.

The third annual Bike the Branches is a one-day ride on May 9 that lets you discover parts of Brooklyn you may not have seen before while supporting the Brooklyn Public Library. For more information about the event, including how to register, you can go here.

Congratulations to the Park Slope Library and all the nominees!
