Loved ones of a bread deliveryman murdered by a mysterious sniper in Gravesend gathered yesterday for his wake, and demanded answers in the senseless slaying.

“They took one of the greatest things from us,” said the victim’s 16-year-old daughter. “I’m not going to be able to live without knowing who did this.”

Jorge Martinez was working an evening shift and driving down Avenue X on Friday when a bullet ripped through the roof of his delivery truck, fatally striking him in the head. The truck hit another car and then slammed into a nearby building.

Martinez, a father of two, was found hunched over the steering wheel.

Police found nine shell casings on the roof of a West 11th Street building in the Marlboro projects. Investigators believe the gunman was testing out a new weapon, first firing on several parked cars before training his scope on Martinez’s moving van.

At the wake, which took place in Queens near where Martinez lived, family members agonized over the slow chase to find the man responsible for Martinez’s death.

“They still haven’t told us anything,” said Martinez’s cousin Jimy Duarte. “We need results. This can’t stay like this.”

His family and body will head to the Ecuadorian city of Guayaquil later today for additional family members to say their final goodbye before he is laid to rest.
