UPDATED: Floating Body Of 19-Year-Old Man Found In Prospect Park Lake
A dead body was found floating in Prospect Park Lake yesterday, police say.
On Wednesday, November 2 at approximately 1:20pm, police arrived at the lake near the intersection of Wellhouse Drive and West Drive to discover a 19-year-old male floating in the water.
Cops say that after they removed the body from the lake, EMS pronounced the man dead on the scene.
Cops have identified the deceased as Geordian Childs of New Jersey. The parents told the police that Childs traveled to New York City to look for a job, and “the next thing we knew, he was dead.”
According to a police spokesperson, Childs was found fully clothed without any obvious signs of trauma.
The cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner, and the investigation is ongoing.
