Two women and one man have been charged with gang assault after the death of a woman inside a Coney Island housing project earlier this year.

Cops found Vanessa Rivera, 42, inside Surfside Gardens Houses on West 33rd Street between Neptune and Mermaid Avenues on Saturday, January 21 around 4pm, said cops. She had trauma to her body and face.

Rivera was rushed to Coney Island Hospital, where she was pronounced dead less than two weeks later, on February 2.

One day after her death, 22-year-old Dwayne Maddox, 29-year-old Jaris Sweet, and 37-year-old Mayra Oliveras were arrested and charged with gang assault. The three suspects are residents of Surfside Gardens, say cops.

The Surfside Gardens Housing project was the site of a murder around this same time last year, when a man was shot outside the complex. The shooting was later linked to the “Dirty Cash” gang.
