This Week’s B & Q Subway Changes

Happy Monday! As you head out this week, take note of a couple scheduled changes to the Q and the B. Details via the MTA:

Starting Tuesday:

No Q trains between 57th Street-7th Avenue and Ditmars Boulevard
Days, 10am to 3pm, Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11
Q service operates between Stillwell Avenue and 57th Street-7th Avenue. Take the N instead and transfer between trains at Times Square-42nd Street (across the platform).

Starting Wednesday:

Coney Island-bound Q trains run express from Prospect Park to Kings Highway
Days, 9:45am to 3pm, Wednesday, July 9 through Friday, July 11
Trains stop at Church Avenue and Newkirk Plaza. For service to Parkside Avenue, Beverley Road, Cortelyou Road, Avenue H, Avenue J, and Avenue M, take the Q to Church Avenue, Newkirk Plaza, or Kings Highway and transfer to a Manhattan-bound B or Q. For service from these stations, take the B or Q to Newkirk Plaza, Church Avenue, or Prospect Park and transfer to a Coney Island-bound Q train.

145th Street-bound B trains run local from Kings Highway to Prospect Park
Days, 9:45am to 3pm, Wednesday, July 9 through Friday, July 11

Remember, there can be unscheduled changes, so be sure to check out the MTA as you embark on all adventures!

  1. So all told, since last summer, we’ve had service on the Q in both directions for, what, about three weeks?

  2. I’ve been on the Q on Weds-Fri afternoons when it was scheduled to go express, and thankfully it has made all stops. It really speaks to appalling lack of planning by the MTA. I’m sure there’s work to be done on the line, but just get it done already.
