This Weekend’s Open House Picks

terrace via Halstead Realty

We’ve rounded up some of the more interesting open houses happening in and around Ditmas Park on Sunday. Any thoughts on these places?

CONDOS & CO-OPS

415 Ocean Parkway, Apt 3A
List Price: $249,000, $600 maintenance
Size: 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom
Details: This unit has a roomy bedroom and living area, and it sounds like there are some nice upgrades alongside original details. If the kitchen backsplash is any indication, the upgrades are interesting and modern–but then again, the layout of the kitchen itself might be a little tight for avid cooks. You could always just go out to dinner, though, since you’ll be right off the main Cortelyou food corridor.
Open House: Sunday, August 18, 2:30-4pm

1401 Ocean Avenue, Apt PHD
List Price: $449,000, $794 maintenance
Size: 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom
Details: This east-facing top floor unit is over 1,000 square feet with lots of windows, nice kitchen counter space, and an updated bathroom and fixtures throughout. In addition to dat terrace here’s a roof deck and pool, eight closets, and major utilities and central air are included in the maintenance cost. And if you were wondering whose birthday it was recently who would really like to own it a lot, here’s a hint: gal with two thumbs, writes for Ditmas Park Corner.
Open House: Sunday, August 18, 12:30-2pm

HOUSES

217 E 9th Street
List Price: $599,000
Size: 4 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms
Details: The lack of photos of this attached brick row house on at the listing and the disclosure that it needs TLC made us wonder, but some sleuthing turned up a look inside. The carpet, kitchen, and bath have definitely seen better days, but that giant brick wall in the living room is pretty stupendous–especially for handy folks looking to finish a home in their own way.
Open House: Sunday, August 18, 11:30am-1pm

120 Erasmus Street
List Price: $750,000
Size: 8 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms
Details: All those asterisks and realtor doublespeak like “potential duplex” and “flex three beds” are a little difficult to get through, but the gist of this property seems to be, it’s been recently renovated, there’s some serious potential for income, and there’s a 10-year tax abatement on it. You could take the first floor and finished basement for easy access to a washer and dryer, and leave the two balconies upstairs to future tenants.
Open House: Sunday, August 18, 1-2:30pm
