This Weekend’s Open House Picks

This Weekend’s Open House Picks

After a weekend off for the holiday, open houses are back in a big way this weekend, with a lot of interesting new properties to check out.

HOUSES

• One of those quintessential Ditmas Park houses is on the market: 274 Argyle Road (pictured above), painted bright blue and featuring a fairytale turret, 4 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms, is listed by Brooklyn Hearth for $1,300,000. You might have to deal with some young hooliganism down the block, but that also means you’re a block away from all the highlights of Cortelyou. Go check it out before one of the Nets scoops it up.
Open house: Sunday, September 9, 1-3pm

• Except for the carpeted staircase, I would buy the house at 639 E 18th St just based on the photo of the entryway and staircase. The wood! The stained glass! The seat where you could take off your winter boots and start reading right away with a cup of hot chocolate! Okay, enough exclamation points, you’re also close to Foster Ave and the bus route that runs along it. It’s single-family house, 6-bed, 2-bath listed by Brooklyn Dwellings gor $975,000.
Open house: Sunday, September 9, 11am-1pm

• Also with 6 bedrooms but 2.5 baths, 462 Westminster Rd has a ton a lovely original details that also deserve exclamation points. The inlays in the wood floors are enough for a crime against grammar. But that kitchen could use some updating. Listed by Brooklyn Properties for $1,175,000.
Open house: Sunday, September 9, 12-2pm

CO-OPS/CONDOS

• The apartment at 370 Ocean Parkway #9K/L is so big and so multi-lettered, I guess it must have been two apartments at some point.  at 1,980 square feet, it’s got 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a 490-square-foot terrace that seems to run along the entire length of the apartment. Listed by the owners for $615,000, with a maintenance fee of $1,480.
Open house: Sunday, September 9, 2-3pm

• Another space is available in the condo at 346 Coney Island Ave, this one on the lobby level, though it’s facing the back. We last looked at unit #504 in July, which was listed at $515,000 for 4 beds, 2 baths, but no outdoor space, and it’s currently in contract. Spot the differences: This one, #101, has 1 bed, 1 bath, and a private tiered deck, and is listed by Corcoran for $459,000 with a common charge of $373.
Open house: Sunday, September 9, 2-3pm

• Yet another apartment available in this building! This week it’s #604 at 400 E 17th St, a 1-bed, 1-bath space on the sixth floor, listed by Corcoran (who has four other apts listed in this building) for $299,000 with a $698 maintenance, it’s on the high end for that size in that building. Can anyone who lives (or has lived) there speak to the turnover?
Open house: Sunday, September 9, 3-4:30pm

• Another building that had a space for sale recently (which now has an offer on it) has another opening. 811 Cortelyou Rd #4G is a 1-bed, 1-bath space that has a dishwasher. Listed by Fillmore, it’s a good deal at $157,500, though the maintenance is a big one at $839.
Open house: Sunday, September 9, 12-1:30pm
