This Weekend’s F & G Subway Changes

This Weekend’s F & G Subway Changes
Manhattan Bound F/G Trains at Church Ave Subway Station

Happy Thursday! This weekend marks the beginning of the G becoming a dream we once had. That and more changes scheduled for this weekend, via the MTA:

Starting Thursday:

No F trains between Roosevelt Avenue and 21 Street-Queensbridge.
Late nights, 10pm to 5am, Monday, July 21 through Friday, July 25
F service operates in two sections: one, between 179 Street and Roosevelt Avenue and two, between 21 Street-Queensbridge and Stillwell Avenue. There will be free shuttle buses operating between Roosevelt Avenue and Queensboro Plaza, stopping at 65th Street, Northern Boulevard, 46th Street, Steinway Street, 36th Street, and Queens Plaza.
G trains run every 20 minutes.
Late evenings, beginning 11pm, Monday to Thursday, until July 24

Starting Friday:

No G train service north of Nassau Avenue.
All times, 10:30pm Friday, July 25 until 5am Tuesday, September 2
Basically, the G train is becoming an urban myth as of Friday. Beginning 10:30pm Friday, the G will only run between Church and Nassau Avenues to allow for reconstruction of tunnels damaged during Hurricane Sandy. This means that at all times, trains will not be running to or from Greenpoint, 21st Street, and Court Square in Long Island City. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service. For more information about transfers, go here.

Starting Saturday:

F trains runs local in Queens.
Weekends, 12:01am Saturday to 5am Monday, until August 4
F trains stop at 36 Street, Steinway Street, 46 Street, Northern Boulevard, 65 Street, Roosevelt Avenue, Elmhurst Avenue, Grand Avenue, Woodhaven Boulevard, 63 Drive and 67 Avenue.

Remember, unscheduled changes can occur – so check the MTA before heading out.
