This Weekend’s F & G Subway Changes

This Weekend’s F & G Subway Changes
G train

Happy Labor Day weekend! Remember, because of the holiday, the subways and buses are operating on a Sunday schedule on Monday, September, 1. Other than that, it’s the last weekend we won’t have the G north of Nassau Avenue, and the F is looking blissfully change-free in our area – though, watch out, there are scheduled changes in Queens and Manhattan. Details via the MTA:

Starting Thursday:

No G train service north of Nassau Avenue
All times, until 5am Tuesday, September 2
The G is only running between Church and Nassau avenues to allow for the reconstruction of tunnels damaged during Hurricane Sandy. This means that at all times, trains will not be running to or from Greenpoint, 21st Street, and Court Square reconstruction of tunnels in Long Island City. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service. For more information about transfers, go here.
Jamaica-bound F trains skip Van Wyck Boulevard and Sutphin Boulevard
Late nights, 11:45pm to 5am, Monday to Friday, until September 12 (except 11:45pm Monday to 5am Tuesday, September 1-2)
For service to these stations, take the F to Parsons Boulevard and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F. For service from Van Wyck Boulevard, take the E or F to Union Turnpike and transfer to a Jamaica-bound F. For service from Sutphin Boulevard, take the F to Union Turnpike and transfer to a Jamaica-bound F.
Coney Island-bound F trains make local stops at 65 Street, Northern Boulevard, 46 Street, Steinway Street, and 36 Street
Late nights, 12:01am to 5am, Tuesday, August 26 through Friday, August 29

Starting Friday:

Coney Island-bound F train trains via the M from Roosevelt Avenue to 47-50 Streets
Weekends, 11:15pm Friday to 5am Tuesday (because of the holiday)
Trains run express from Roosevelt Avenue to Queens Plaza. No Coney Island-bound F at 21 Street-Queensbridge, Roosevelt Island, Lexington Avenue/63 Street, and 57 Street.

Remember, unscheduled changes can occur, so check the MTA’s website before heading out.
