What: It’s your last chance this summer to check out Prospect Park Lake by rowboat! The Prospect Park Alliance and Village Community Boathouse have again teamed up to offer the free public rowing on Saturdays, so get out on the water while you can.

The Black And Gold Marching Elite

What: March along to the playground with The Black and Gold Marching Elite.

Park Slope Summer Strolls

Where: 5th Avenue from Dean-Sterling Street, Park Slope
What: The road is closed to traffic and open to families looking for fun — including street chess, face painting, a rock climbing wall, a bouncy house, dancing in the street, live music, a photo booth, juggling, mini golf, vintage cars, and more.

Stomp, Clap, And Sing With FunikiJam
When: Tuesday, August 25, 11am
Where: Brooklyn Central Library, 10 Grand Army Plaza
What: It’s all about getting the kids involved in this fun, interactive performance by Funkijam, who span the world in a musical adventure. Plus, if the weather is nice, it’s held outside on the plaza.

What: Want to learn how to draw for Comic Books? Then check out this workshop with Mark Ziemann, who taught art in San Francisco and is the creator of the comic strip Motorhead. Mr. Ziemann will show you how to give life and motion to ideas and characters so you can create illustrations of your own!

Afropunk Fest

Where: Commodore Barry Park on Navy Street between Park and Flushing Avenues
What: AFROPUNK 2015 is returning to Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park, also known as City Park, for a weekend of live music, vibrant art and good vibes. Described by the New York Times as “the most multicultural festival in the US,” the word AFROPUNK itself has become synonymous with open­minded, non­conforming and unconventional, placing the institution at the epicenter of urban culture inspired by alternative music.

Toddler Tuesdays at Lakeside
When: Tuesday, August 25 from 9:30am-12pm
Where: LeFrak Center Lakeside in Prospect Park at 171 East Drive
What: Start your Tuesdays with an action-packed morning of toddler-only dedicated skate time on the rink, instructor-led games, music, play-based activities, snacks, and beverages. The Toddler Tuesday program is designed for children ages 2–5 and their caregivers. Accompanying caregivers are required to participate in all activities with their toddlers and must be prepared to assist/monitor the toddler accordingly. What: The courtyard is transformed into an into a toddler wonderland complete with toys, a water table and supervised art projects geared towards children 4 and under. Come meet your neighbors and watch your kids make new friends. Presented in conjunction with My Brooklyn Baby.
