There’s no shortage of wonders to find in southern Brooklyn this Labor Day weekend. Check out Coney Island’s beard and moustache competition, now in its eighth year. There are also history lessons, fireworks, free movies, and more! Have fun!

Movies at the Library: The Queen
When: Friday, September 4, 2 – 4pm

What: A movie about Queen Elizabeth II, played by Helen Mirren, struggling to cope with the tragic death of Princess Diana.

Coney Island Stereoviews

Where: MCU Park, 1904 Surf Avenue
What: It’s latin music night at MCU park when the home team takes on the Staten Island Yankees. There will also be fireworks after the game.

Bensonhurst Greenmarket

Where: Milestone Park, 18th Avenue, between 81st and 82nd Street.
What: The award-winning farmers’ market is back! Lookout for free cooking demonstrations and delicious, organic, farm-fresh produce all day. The market will be open in the 18th Avenue park every Sunday until November 22.
