History of Floyd Bennett Field

What: Brooklyn Historian Ron Schweiger will be giving a presentation on the history of Floyd Bennett Field. Learn about the park’s wonderful secrets at this event put on by the Bay Improvement Group.

Film Festival: Double Indemnity

What: After a screening of Double Indemnity, a movie about an insurance representative who gets caught up in a murder/insurance fraud scheme, there will be discussion about the film with other movie buffs.

International Film Festival: Marriage Italian Style

What: Check out Marriage Italian Style, about a woman who hears her lover plans to marry a younger woman and devises a scheme to convince him that it is her he should be marrying. Played with English subtitles.

Estuary Day at Coney Island Creek
When: Saturday, May 14, 8am – 3pm
Where: Coney Island Creek, along Bayview Avenue near Kaiser Park
What: You’re invited to celebrate Coney Island Creek! The day includes a coastal clean-up and demostrations on water chemistry techniques, oyster monitoring projects, seining, underwater robotics, diving demonstrations, and talks by ecologists and scientists.

Television Studio Production

What: Learn he basics of studio production, including three camera switching, audio configurations, green screen, as well as floor managing and directing. Successful completion leads to becoming a Certified Community Producer.
