A 20-year-old crook who donned a “red skull” mask while pulling off a string of bank robberies throughout Brooklyn this past week was captured by the Shomrim last Wednesday.

The alleged thief, identified in a report by the New York Post as Kevin Crawford, terrorized banks in Williamsburg and Fort Greene, by brandishing a gun and shouting, “Happy f–king Halloween!”

His first hit at the Dime Savings Bank in Williamsburg last Tuesday, scored the masked menace close to $2,000, all after a teller refused to let Crawford open an account with a check worth 17 cents. Crawford returned later with a mask, gun, and a note which read, “Give me the money out of the register. I will kill you bitch.”

On the following Wednesday, Crawford attempted to rob the Emigrant Savings Bank on Myrtle Avenue in Fort Greene. This time, when the teller didn’t respond to the threat of, “Trick or treat, give up the cash or I will kill you, bitch motherf–ker,” with bags of cash, Crawford got spooked and bolted the bank with nothing.

He was captured later that day in Borough Park by the Shomrim, the unarmed, civilian patrol team set up by Hasidic Jews throughout the city in an effort to fight crime, vandalism, and anti-semitic attacks.
