The Next Huge Flatbush Sale: $2.275 Million For 100 Rugby Road?

We’ve seen some pretty wild local sales over the past several months in Ditmas Park. There was the $2 million Colonial revival at 114 Westminster Road, the 147 Rugby Road home that sold for $2.2 million in September, and now 1029-1035 Cortelyou Road, which recently sold for “well above the asking price” at $2 million following over 20 all-cash offers.

Following in the footsteps of the aforementioned sales and just a two-minute jaunt from 147, the current owners of 100 Rugby Road (between Church and Albemarle) have put their seven-bedroom, three-bath home on the market for $2.275 million, as Curbed was the first to report.

Corcoran says that the 1900 home, which is 2,990 square feet and sits on a 6,000-square-foot lot, has three decorative mantels, a balcony off the bedroom, and original leaded glass details alongside a new roof and other modern upgrades.

It was designed by Dean Alvord‘s right hand man John J. Petit (who loves him a house with a healthy dose of whimsy) in the spirit of a Swiss chalet, says the 1979 Prospect Park South Historic designation report (pp. 87-89), but modified to suit our mountain-less landscape. The report also says a two-car garage that matches the style of the house was built in 1927 by John Heaslip.
