The Greenmarket Report: Seeds & Easter Closure

Ready to dig in the dirt? Here’s what’s happening at our local markets this weekend!

It’s gardening day at the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket on Saturday, April 19! Local farm-based seed company Hudson Valley Seed Library will be on hand selling their beautifully decorated seed packets this Saturday (and they’ll be back again next month on Saturday, May 24).

Need to amend your soil before getting your garden started this season? The Greenmarket will be selling 10-pound bags of organic, locally-processed compost. And for all those young green thumbs out there, stop by the market information tent, where they’ll be making seed necklaces for kids to take home.

Finally, a reminder that the Park Slope Farmers Market will be closed tomorrow, Sunday, April 20 because of the Easter holiday.

The Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket runs Saturdays from 8am-4pm at Grand Army Plaza. The Park Slope Farmers Market runs Sundays from 10am-5pm along 4th Street at 5th Avenue, but is closed this week; they’ll return for their regular hours on Sunday, April 27.
