More showers and thunderstorms could occur tonight, but the temperature won’t dip below 72, according to the forecast. •A report by Washington, D.C. organization Cause of Action about Forest City Enterprises’ contributions to political campaigns and receipt of government subsidies may draw unfair conclusions, according to Atlantic Yards Report. While asserting the need to “shine a spotlight” on Forest City, the local blog questions whether making contributions to development-friendly candidates “directly” resulted in government support.
•Greenlight Bookstore hosts “An Evening with Ig Publishing,” a Fort Greene publisher that specializes in literary fiction and political and cultural nonfiction, tonight at 7:30 p.m. Ryan Bartlemay will read from his novel, “Onward Toward What We’re Going Toward,” and Sarah Pemberton Strong will read from hers, “The Fainting Room.” Ig staff will also make margaritas during the event.
•The Fulton Area Business Alliance and Brooklyn Academy of Music are set to present a Fab Friday event that includes arts and crafts, music and film. The event begins at 4 p.m. tomorrow with sidewalk chalk art and various creative workshops for children. Then at 6, deejay Bobbito Garcia will weave funk, hip-hop, soul and other genres into a two-hour set. At 8, there’s a screening of “Doin’ It in the Park,” Garcia and Kevin Couliau’s 2012 feature-length documentary on the past and present of New York City pick-up basketball. Fab Friday organizers recommend bringing a blanket to sit on during the film. It all happens at the Putnam Triangle Plaza at the corner of Fulton Street and Grand Avenue.
