The Church Avenue BID Christmas Concert & Tree Lighting Is Tomorrow!
No plans tomorrow night? How about joining the Church Avenue BID in the Flatbush Reformed Church yard (Church Avenue between Flatbush Avenue and E 21st Street) for a Christmas tree lighting, concert by Opera Oggi, hot chocolate, freebies, and more?
The event officially starts at 6:30pm tomorrow, although the BID’s Facebook event page suggests attendees come early for hot cocoa (which, along with the tree installation and lights, is being provided by the Flatbush Avenue BID).
The over 12-foot-tall tree has been generously donated by Shannon Florist & Nursery, and has been adorned with ornaments by children from the Flatbush Reformed Church congregation as well as Honeydew Drop Playhouse (above, photo by the BID’s Melissa Skolnick), Children’s Corner, and the new G.A.T.E.D. Academy.
Feld Entertainment is also donating ticket vouchers for Disney on Ice at Barclays Center to the first 50 kids and their families to arrive, and Opera Oggi will be on hand to perform seasonal tunes at 7pm (suggested donation of $20 for adults/$10 for kids).
