The former Bergen Tile building at 215 Flatbush Avenue on the corner of Dean Street has been completely demolished, to make room for an apartment building. Everything has been torn out, down to the foundation.

The most recent plans for the building that’s supposed to go up in its place are from 2012, and show a six-story, 53-unit, 55,310-square-foot residential building that would include 9,875-square-feet of commercial space. However, Brownstoner noted in 2012 that the plans didn’t have the correct number of parking spaces as per zoning requirements, and owner Scott Domansky told the Brooklyn Daily Eagle this past fall that they were drawing up new plans.
