Suspect In Fatal Parkside Avenue Shooting Charged With Murder

A Mill Basin man has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting on Parkside Avenue Friday morning that left one man dead and another wounded, said cops.

Damani Thomas, 29, was arrested and charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, and two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, according to police.

A second suspect remains at large.

On Friday morning before 3:30am, the victims were sitting in a black Ford Edge parked at Parkside Avenue and Parade Place when two gunmen pedaled up to the car on bikes, opened fire, then fled eastbound on Parkside Avenue, according to reports.

At the time, there were three men were in the car, said cops. The driver, Aboubacar Fofana, 26, died from his injuries at Maimonides Medical Center, a second victim was in stable conditions with wounds on his back, and a third passenger was unharmed.
