Suspect Arrested In Flatbush Murder From 2015

A Pennsylvania man arrested in a January drug bust has been charged with a Flatbush murder from 2015.

Manuel Waisome, 24, has been charged with fatally shooting 27-year-old Darnell Nelson in the chest on East 18th Street and Caton Avenue on November 24, 2015, said cops. The two had allegedly fought over a woman, reports the NY Daily News.

Cops arrested Waisome in Pennsylvania on January 19 under a different name for dealing heroin, according to the news outlet. When he was picked up on the drug charges, cops found an open warrant for the 2015 murder.

He is charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, said cops. He’s being held on Rikers Island and due back in court on April 14, reports DNAinfo.

Nelson’s death came during a violent crime wave in 2015 that left some wondering if there was a gang problem in Ditmas Park.
