Suggest District 45 Participatory Budgeting Projects At Upcoming Meetings

Live, work, or play in the 45th City Council District? Though Councilmember Mathieu Eugene hasn’t yet sponsored Participatory Budgeting in the 40th, you can offer ideas on how to spend over $1 million in Midwood, Flatbush, East Flatbush, and other areas covered by Councilmember Jumaane Williams. Two meetings are being held in the near future to discuss project possibilities for the district, to be voted on by residents of the 45th next year.

This Thursday, October 3, a meeting is being held at Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School (610 E 37th Street between Avenue D and Foster Avenue) from 6:30-8:30pm. Next Thursday, October 10, there will be a meeting at the Glenwood Houses Community Center (5816 Farragut Road at the corner of E 59th Street) at the same time.

Past winning projects have included technological resources at PS 269 and the Tilden Educational Campus, security camera installation, and curb extensions. Anyone can come to the initial meetings and offer ideas–so bring your best, and maybe you’ll get to see your project completed in District 45.
