Do you have a rent-stabilized lease? Are you concerned about a rent increase?

Testimony from the public is now being accepted regarding the proposed rent increase guidelines for rent stabilized apartments, lofts, and hotel units with leases renewing between October 1, 2016 and September 3, 2017.

The NYC Rent Guidelines Board will vote on the guidelines on June 27, at 6:30pm, in Cooper Union’s Great Hall in Manhattan.

The Rent Guidelines Board has proposed the following annual adjustments for rent-stabilized apartment leases:

  • For a one-year lease, renewing on or after October 1, 2016 and on or before September 30, 2017: 0 percent to 2 percent
  • For a two-year lease renewing on or after October 1, 2016 and on or before September 30, 2017: .5 percent to 3.5 percent

Last year’s rent stabilization increases were 0 percent for a 1-year lease, and 2 percent for a 2-year lease.
