St. Joseph’s Hill Center, Pratt Quad, And BRIC Arts Are Among Local Winners Of 2015 Building Brooklyn Awards

When it comes to Brooklyn buildings, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and the Brooklyn Navy Yard stood out this year, snagging most of the 2015 Brooklyn Building Awards, given out annually by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce to “recently completed construction and renovation projects that improve the borough’s diverse neighborhoods and economy.”

BRIC Arts Media won for Community Development, Steiner Studios for Economic Development, the St. Joseph’s College Hill Center for Education, the Pratt Engineering Quad for Landscape and Open Space, and the Duggal Greenhouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard for the Nation Grid Award for Energy Efficiency.

Other nearby honorees are Green-Wood Cemetery Chapel (Arts and Culture) and the renovated Kings Theatre (Historic Preservation), which will host the Awards ceremony on July 21.

“The borough of Brooklyn is truly an innovation hub, where builders and designers can put their craft to use and enhance the city that surrounds them,” said Chamber President/CEO Carlo Scissura. “These [13] projects represent the creative influence and inventive culture that inhabit our borough. I would like to congratulate all the winners for their state-of-the-art projects that make this urban setting a place the world needs to see.”
