From free beer to Jean-Claude van Damme, South Slope is the place to be this weekend. Check out some of our favorite events from around the neighborhood:

Two Roads Brooklyn Launch
When: Thursday, February 20
Where: The Owl Farm, 297 9th Street, between 4th and 5th Avenues
What: Come in from the cold, warm up by the Owl Farm fire, and join in the fun as Two Roads Brewery, whose beer will only cost $5 from 6pm to 10pm, makes their Brooklyn debut.
How much: No cover

Wells & Young’s Brewery Night
When: Friday, February 21, 7pm
Where: The Monro Pub, 481 5th Avenue, between 11th and 12th Streets
What: Free beer! Reps from Wells & Young’s will be on hand with samples of some of their tasty brews.
How much: No cover

Black History At Green-Wood
When: Saturday, February 22, 1pm to 3pm
Where: Green-Wood Cemetery, 25th Street and 5th Avenue
What: Celebrate Black History Month by getting to know some of Green-Wood’s permanent residents, including “Susan Smith McKinney Stewart, the first black female doctor in the state; Jean-Michel Basquiat, innovative artist of the 1970s and ’80s; Jeremiah Hamilton, New York’s first black millionaire; civil war heroes and survivors; and more.”
How Much: $15 for members, $20 for non-members

Obsolete Cinema Presents Winter Action Jam
When: Sunday, February 23, 2pm
Where: Freddy’s, 627 5th Avenue, between 17th and 18th Streets
What: “Break out your flannel, grease up your mullet, and polish your sawed-off,” because Obsolete Cinema is busting out the 90s action films this weekend…”all in living VHS!” Seriously, how can you pass up Steven Seagal in Out For Justice, and Jean-Claude van Damme in Hard Target?
