South Slope Weekday Events Spotlight: March 31-April 2

Don’t wait until the weekend for a little neighborhood fun! Here’s a few of the events that are taking place in our area through Wednesday:

Shape Up NYC: Couch To 5k
When: Monday, March 31, 7pm
Where: Meets in Prospect Park on the porch of Lefferts Historic House
What: No more excuses, South Slope! It’s beautiful outside, so lace up those sneakers, and make your fitness dreams a reality in Prospect Park. The weekly class combines group running, walking, and conditioning exercises to get you in shape for long distance running.
How much: Free.

Jazz And Improv
When: Tuesday, April 1, 6pm
Where: Freddy’s, 627 5th Avenue, between 17th and 18th Streets
What: It might be April 1, but Freddy’s isn’t fooling around when it comes to the quality of their talent on Tuesday. First up at 6pm is Isaac Darche, the “jazz guitarist with lightning fast chops, relaxed sense of swing, and propulsive energy.” Afterward, stick around for  JANET Comedy Improv at 8pm.
How much: No cover.

Story Play
When: Wednesday, April 2, 1:30pm
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue, between 8th and 9th Streets
What: Bring the family out to the library on Wednesday afternoon for stories, games and fun with friends. Geared toward children ages birth to 3-years.
How much: Free, but tickets are required for entry (one per family), so be sure to arrive early to score your ticket.
